Opportunities at Today's Chicago Woman
TCW is the place to be seen! If you're looking for invaluable exposure in the Chicago media, please contact us about the following opportunities.
Editorial Interns and Production Intern
Today's Chicago Woman hires two to four editorial interns each fall, spring and summer semester (or individual college equivalent). Internships are unpaid, but the experience and clips you'll gain will prove invaluable to your future magazine career. Past TCW interns have gone on to hold writing and editing positions in a variety of media outlets.
At TCW, you won't spend your days fetching coffee, sending faxes or doing endless research for other people's articles. You'll be assigned departments in the magazine, such as Networking News; Wedding Belles; Health, Beauty and Fitness Notes; To Do; Ask the Expert; Trunk Shows; Wine and Dine Events; and Picture Pages. You'll write bylined, feature-length articles on subjects such as Continuing Education, fashion, health, home décor, beauty, career, finance, profiles, real estate and restaurants, and more. You'll learn the indispensable art of fact-checking, and help edit columnist submissions. You may have the opportunity to attend photo shoots and industry events. And, if you have original, powerful ideas for stories, our ears are open.
If you're an ambitious, talented college student who wants to be an integral part of our staff and see what it's really like to put together a monthly magazine (and not just what it looks like on Ugly Betty or Just Shoot Me), TCW is the place for you. Please send a professional cover letter, resume and clips to Managing Editor Cassandra Gaddo at cgaddo@tcwmag.com, or via mail at 150 E. Huron, Suite 1001, Chicago, IL 60611. Be sure to include the approximate start and end dates you would be available, along with approximate number of hours and, if known, dates and times available. Please send well in advance of the start term—for example, applicants for the Spring semester should apply in November or December.
